Balfour Beatty Sizewell C

Sizewell C represents one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure investments, with the new nuclear power station requiring extensive rail infrastructure to support construction logistics and future operational requirements. Balfour Beatty has been appointed as the principal contractor responsible for delivering the critical rail track infrastructure that will enable efficient transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel throughout the construction phase and beyond.

The rail infrastructure package encompasses the design, construction, and commissioning of new rail track connecting the Sizewell C development site to the existing rail network. This includes track bed preparation, drainage systems, track laying, signalling integration, and associated civil engineering works. The scope requires coordination with Network Rail to ensure seamless integration with the wider rail network while maintaining operational safety standards throughout delivery.

CRS Resource supported the Sizewell Rail Project by supplying a comprehensive range of competent and safety-critical rail personnel. This included P-Way gangs, COSS, ES, Supervisors and other safety critical staff, alongside experienced Civil gangs delivering associated infrastructure works. By working closely with the project delivery team, CRS Resource helped maintain safe systems of work, consistent productivity, and reliable labour coverage throughout the programme, contributing to the successful progression of the Sizewell C Rail project.
